San Diego Toros
The San Diego Toros joined the NASL in 1968 after moving from Los Angeles. After accumulating the highest point total (186) among all 17 NASL teams, the San Diego Toros beat the Kansas City Spurs in the playoffs semifinals before losing to the Atlanta Chiefs in the 1968 championship. The team folded at the end of their 1968 season as San Diego didn’t seem to like the Toros very much. Attendance was poor, as the team averaged less than 5,000 fans per home match.
