Pittsburgh Stingers
The Pittsburgh Stingers were launched in 1994 as part of the short-lived Continental Indoor Soccer League (CISL). The Stingers played at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh and were an attempt to fill empty dates at the arena and wore the familiar black and yellow colors of the city. But it didn’t go well as the team was a box office bust and wasn’t much better on the field. THey would fold after two seasons, with the CISL not holding on much longer than that.
