Sacramento Gold
The Sacramento Gold were a member of the American Soccer League (ASL) and previously known as the Sacramento Spirits starting in 1978. After a rough start in 1979, the Sacramento Gold went on to win the 1979 ASL Championship against the Columbus Magic. Sadly in their 3rd season in the ASL, the team ran out of money and were unable to travel to their games. Eventually, the ASL removed the team from the league and the team folded in 1980 but not before they would reach one more title game that season, losing to the Pennsylvania Stoners.
