Chicago Spurs

The Chicago Spurs began playing in the National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) in 1967. However, following their first season, the NPSL merged with the United Soccer Association (USA) to form the North American Soccer League (NASL). In order to stay in the league and avoid competition with the Chicago Mustangs, the Chicago Spurs moved to Kansas City, Missouri and became the Kansas City Spurs.
