Hartford Bicentennials
The Hartford Bicentennials were based out of Hartford, Connecticut and played in the North American Soccer League in 1976. The team didn’t draw well in Hartford, and decided to move to the Yale Bowl in New Haven and was renamed to the Connecticut Bicentennials.
Their fortunes did not improve in New Haven, and they would move to Oakland, California, renamed to the Oakland Stompers. The Stompers played for one season before moving to Edmonton, Alberta to become the Edmonton Drillers for the 1979-1982. The team officially folded in 1982.
