Hartford Hellions
The Hartford Hellions were an indoor soccer team that was formed in 1979 with an awesomely devilish logo. Originally slated to play at the Hartford Civic Center, the team had to scramble to find a home field after the arena roof collapsed from a snowstorm in late 1979. They ended up splitting time between New Haven and Springfield as the arena was repaired. But after two losing seasons in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), the Hartford Hellions were bought out ironically enough by a group of devout Christians who removed the team’s Satanic logo and moved the team to Memphis to become the Americans and later the Las Vegas Americans.
