New Jersey Rockets
The New Jersey Rockets were a one year wonder in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) for the 1981 - 1982 season at the Meadowlands. The team drew an astonishing crowd of ~17,500 during their inaugural home game against the New York Arrows. The team would fight an uphill battle though, as the early part of their schedule was almost entirely on the road and they also shared an arena with the New York Cosmos, as the NASL had decided to move indoors for the 1981-82 season.
The Rockets finished their only season 17-27 and declared bankruptcy shortly after their last game against the Philadelphia Fever and folded in June 1982.
