Baltimore Comets
The Baltimore Comets competed in the North American Soccer League for two seasons in the mid-1970s and did quite well with a record of 10-8-2 in its expansion season and qualifying for the playoffs.
Unfortunately due to the Comets financial struggle, the team was evicted from Memorial Stadium due to missing rent payments and had to move to Burdick Field at Towson State University. After finishing in last place in the NASL Eastern Division, the Comets moved to San Diego and became the San Diego Jaws.
