Kansas City Spurs
The Kansas City Spurs were previously known as the Chicago Spurs before moving to Kansas and played in the North American Soccer League (NASL) during their time from 1968-1970. The Spurs were one of the strongest teams in the league in their first year, 1968, until they lost to the San Diego Toros in a two-leg semi-final playoff series.
Unfortunately due to a crisis with the NASL investors, the NASL split their seasons into an International Cup and then a conventional cup later in the year. The Kansas City Spurs won the league NASL championship with a 10-2-4 record and folded in 1971 due to budget cuts.
